2×2 grid

The 2×2 crafting grid is used for basic crafting, using a subset of the possible crafting recipes. The 2×2 grid is accessed inside the player's inventory (opened by pressing E by default).

There is a limited number of recipes that can be made in the 2×2 grid. Therefore, it is typically used to craft logs into planks and then turn those planks into a crafting table. It can also be used to combine damaged tools into a repaired tool. The crafting table (and by extension the crafter) offers a far greater variety of recipes with its 3×3 crafting grid, so it is usually used instead.
