Damage
Damage is the reduction of an entity's health.
Players and mobs have a number of health points that are reduced when they receive damage. When health reaches zero, the player or mob dies. Health is stored internally as a floating-point number.
Players have 20HP × 10 health points by default. The amount of health is shown in the HUD, where each half of a heart is 1HP point. Fractional values are rounded up to the next integer; for example, 6.2HP × 3.1 is shown as 7HP.
