Fluid

Fluids (also known by players as liquids) are blocks that are able to flow over the terrain, forming rivers or falls. There are only two fluid blocks: water and lava.

There are other in-game substances that show fluid properties but cannot be placed as fluid blocks, mainly potions, dyed water,‌[Bedrock Edition only] milk, and honey.

Fluids can be placed as source blocks by using a water bucket and can be picked up with an empty bucket. It is possible to use a glass bottle from a water source to fill it, but the source is not removed.
