Kingbdogz

Brandon "kingbdogz" Pearce is a Mojang Studios employee currently working as a game designer at the headquarters in Stockholm, Sweden.[3]

Brandon attended Ballajura Community College from 2007 to 2012.[4] In 2010, while he was in community college, Brandon started his game design career by independently creating the popular mods The Aether and Aether II, which were downloaded millions of times worldwide. For a decade, he worked as the team lead for a group of modders around the world to develop mods for Minecraft. Besides his famous work as a modder, Brandon also worked as Software Developer at Nerd Kingdom (2013-2014) and Innovation Engineer at VGW (2018-2019).[4]

Brandon presented at MINECON Live 2019 with some other Minecraft modders on a community panel after the show, about game design in Minecraft.[5]

Biography

Brandon attended Ballajura Community College from 2007 to 2012.[4] In 2010, while he was in community college, Brandon started his game design career by independently creating the popular mods The Aether and Aether II, which were downloaded millions of times worldwide. For a decade, he worked as the team lead for a group of modders around the world to develop mods for Minecraft. Besides his famous work as a modder, Brandon also worked as Software Developer at Nerd Kingdom (2013-2014) and Innovation Engineer at VGW (2018-2019).[4]

In January 2020, Brandon joined Mojang Studios as a Game Designer.[4][3] Since then, he has contributed to designing and developing new Minecraft features, such as the strider and the warden, shaping the development of several updates. He also revisited old features in Minecraft by modifying them through modern game design principles.

Brandon is capable of coding in both Java and C++ engines. Stemming from his experience working with team members around the world, he is also familiar with working remotely with teams across different time zones.
