Copper Chest
A copper chest is a type of chest made of copper. It functions almost identically to a normal wooden chest, except that it oxidizes over time, and copper golems will take items out of it and attempt to store them inside nearby wooden chests. Like normal chests, two copper chests can merge into a large copper chest if placed next to each other.

Oxidized Copper Chest
A copper chest is a type of chest made of copper. It functions almost identically to a normal wooden chest, except that it oxidizes over time, and copper golems will take items out of it and attempt to store them inside nearby wooden chests. Like normal chests, two copper chests can merge into a large copper chest if placed next to each other.
Breaking
A copper chest drops itself only if mined with a stone pickaxe or better. Using any other item to mine a copper chest drops only its contents.
Natural generation
Oxidized copper chests can generate as part of abandoned camps.
Post-generation
Upon creating a copper golem by placing a carved pumpkin or jack o'lantern next to a block of copper, a copper chest is generated at the location of the copper block. Both the chest and the golem are spawned with their oxidation state matching that of the block of copper, but do not generate waxed even when a waxed block of copper is used.
Usage
A copper chest placed adjacent to another copper chest joins to create a large copper chest. Two adjacent copper chests merge into a large copper chest even if the two chests have different oxidization levels or waxed states; in such cases, the resulting large chest takes the oxidization level of the least oxidized half, and is unwaxed if one of the two halves is unwaxed. A player can prevent the formation of a large chest, and place two small copper chests side by side, by while placing the second chest , pushing a copper chest into place with a piston , or placing the second chest facing a different direction from the first chest. , copper chests cannot be moved by pistons.
Copper golem
If a copper golem is not holding an item, it visits up to 10 copper chests (regardless of their oxidization or waxed status) in sequence to try to take out up to 16 of the first item contained within. The search area for copper chests from the copper golem's position is 32 blocks horizontally and 8 blocks vertically.
Oxidation
Non-waxed copper chests have four stages of oxidation (including the initial normal state). Lightning bolts, and using an axe while sneaking can remove the oxidation on copper chests. Using a honeycomb on a copper chest prevents it from oxidizing. As the block begins to oxidize (exposed), it gets discolored and green spots begin to appear. As the oxidation continues (weathered), the block is a green color with brown spots. In the last stage (oxidized), the block is teal with several green spots.
