Breaking

Logs and stems can be broken by hand, but using an axe is faster. Logs and stems drop themselves when broken with any tool.

Natural generation

All types of logs generate naturally as part of trees, although fallen trees can only contain oak, spruce, birch, jungle, or poplar. Azalea trees are generated with oak logs. Additionally, one jungle log generates for each jungle bush. Stems generate naturally as part of huge fungi. In addition to trees:

Oak logs generate as part of: Plains villages Swamp huts Mineshafts Shipwrecks Trial chambers Abandoned camps in flower forests and forests

Spruce logs generate as part of: Taiga and snowy plains villages Shipwrecks
