Tutorial:Beginner's guide

This is a beginner's guide to help you start out in Minecraft and learn the basics of Survival mode. It assumes that you are playing in Java Edition, in Normal difficulty.

Note that game mechanics in Java Edition may differ from those in Bedrock Edition. If the differences are major, they will be specified. Minor details, e.g., the amount of damage dealt by a mob, are affected by the difficulty setting. Hostile mobs do not spawn in Peaceful difficulty.

This tutorial mostly assumes that you are playing using a keyboard and mouse, but there may be parts where other methods of controls will be mentioned.
