Tutorial:Defeating the ender dragon

The ender dragon is the primary boss of Minecraft, found upon entering the End. Its defeat grants the player easier access to the End's outer islands via an End gateway, unlocking acess to the various rewards found in End cities. It also rewards the player with the dragon egg and a large amount of experience; and allows the player to view the game's credits and return to the Overworld via the exit portal.

Defeating the dragon requires a lot of preparation, as the only way back from the End is by either killing the dragon or by dying. Make sure to have everything in your inventory before jumping through the portal!
