Tutorial:Speedrun
A speedrun in Minecraft is a play-through of the game performed with the intention of achieving a set goal as fast as possible. Speedruns may cover the whole game or a selected part, such as completing all achievements, or killing a certain boss, typically the ender dragon.
While most games have an end or definite goal, Minecraft is an open-ended sandbox game and has no specific goal or end. However, entering the exit portal is a common goal for Minecraft speedruns. Other goals may include killing major bosses, earning some or all of the achievements, or collecting every block, mob, or item. In essence, any challenge in Minecraft can become a speedrun when doing it as fast as possible. See Tutorials#Challenges for the most common challenges.
