Unused textures

This page documents textures that are, or once were, present in Minecraft but are not actually used.

Specifically, only textures that were fully unused are included here. Textures that were previously used for a feature in older versions are not listed, nor are textures that later became used in a future update—even if the texture was updated before being used. Examples include cobwebs, crying obsidian, calibrated sculk sensors, the original end stone texture, the original two sandstone texture variants, and the pigman (which was later retconned into the piglin). Unused duplicate textures are generally not listed unless they are tied to another unused texture or were changed later on.
