Villager Trade Rebalance
Villager Trade Rebalance‌[Java Edition only] or Villager Trade Rebalancing‌[Bedrock Edition only] is an experiment available in both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition that tweaks the trades of several villager professions and wandering traders in an attempt to make them more fair.
According to Mojang[1], librarian trades are considered to be too overpowered compared to using an enchanting table or searching for enchanted books. With the new changes, players must explore villages in different biomes and unlock villager tiers instead of relying on random chances. Wandering traders had unfair prices and didn't sell many useful items. With the new changes, their prices are lowered, more trades are added, and they can also purchase items from the player. Additionally, various explorer maps were given to cartographers to make it easier for players to locate specific biomes.
In Java Edition 1.21.5 and Bedrock Edition 1.21.70, the cartographer and wandering trader changes were fully implemented and moved out of the experiment.
