Black widow spiders are dark-colored variants of spider capable of shooting webs, serving as obstacles and then as mounts in Minecraft Mini-Series.

The Black Widow Spider looks like a normal spider, but has 3 yellow eyes on its face, the rest on the top of its head, a red symbol on its abdomen, and blue pedipalps.

Black Widow spiders are usually hostile to humans, and attack them by jumping on walls and shooting webs; however, Durango was able to tame them, although this was never explained in the series.

Black Widow Spider, unlike their counterparts from the original game, can jump and have a wall-climbing animation similar to spiders from Minecraft: Story Mode. Also, the Black Widow Spider can shoot webs and can be ridden.
