Minecon 2018 New Entity Sample is an official add-on sample to show the capabilities of adding custom entities without replacing the existing ones. This add-on was showcased on MINECON Earth 2018.

• Duck Spawn Egg
  • Spawns a duck when used.
• Scorpion Spawn Egg
  • Spawns a scorpion when used.
• Skeletaur Spawn Egg
  • Spawns a skeletaur when used.
• Spider Illager Spawn Egg
  • Spawns a spider illager when used.
• Vile Spider Spawn Egg
  • Spawns a vile spider when used.

• Duck
  • A passive mob similar to chickens but with two textures, one for its baby form and another for adult.
  • Instead of being fed and bred with seeds, it uses bread.
• Scorpion
  • A mob that lives in deserts.
  • It can have different sizes.
  • It is neutral.
• Skeletaur
  • A faster variant of skeletons.
  • When the player is far the skeletaur shoots arrows like a regular skeleton. When the player gets close, it kicks the player.
• Spider Illager
  • An illager similar to the evoker but instead of summoning vexes or evoker fangs, it summons vile spiders.
  • Affected by the Bane of Arthropods.
• Vile Spider
  • A smaller variant of spiders that can only be spawned by the spider illager,
  • It inflicts Poison when it attacks.
  • It makes a unique particle effect when walking.

• Ducks were later added to Minecraft Dungeons as a cosmetic pet.
• Skeletaurs seem to have a bug that occasionally made their bow glow or simply not render properly.
• Scorpions would later reappear in an unreleased adventure map, demonstrated at Minecraft Live 2020.^[1]
