Green particles are particles emitted by glow squid, and appear when things grow, when a composter is filled, and to show when villagers are pleased. Specifically they appear when/upon:

• a glow squid swims
• using bone meal to grow a plant
• feeding food to a baby to accelerate growth
• a turtle egg is placed on sand
• a turtle egg cracks or hatches
• a sniffer egg is placed on a moss block
• a sniffer egg cracks
• a villager claims a bed or job site block
• a villager increases its trading level
• an item is placed in a composter
• feeding golden dandelion to a baby to stop age or continue aging

Copper blocks have similar white, yellow, and cyan particles that appear, when oxidation is scraped off them, when wax is taken off them, when wax is put on them, and when lightning rods are struck by lightning.
