Minecraft: Story Mode - Season Two
Minecraft: Story Mode - Season Two was an episodic point-and-click narrative-driven graphic adventure video game which is the sequel to Minecraft: Story Mode, released in July 2017 across multiple platforms, with a Nintendo Switch release on November 6, 2018.[3] The game was developed by Mojang Studios, the developer of Minecraft, in collaboration with Telltale Games. Music for the game was composed by Antimo & Welles, consisting of Skyler Barto (Antimo) and Andrew Arcadi (Welles), and Anadel, an atmospheric folk band based in California that Andrew is also a part of.[17][18][19] The game follows the episodic format that Telltale has used for its previous titles, where player choices and actions have significant effects on later story elements.
On May 31, 2019, it was announced that Minecraft: Story Mode - Season Two, along with Minecraft: Story Mode would no longer be supported following the closure of Telltale Games. The servers for Story Mode - Season Two were discontinued on June 25, 2019, meaning that the episodes are no longer downloadable on most platforms.[20] The Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch versions are playable on the Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2 respectively via backward compatibility along with any version with the episodes already downloaded.[21][22]
Minecraft: Story Mode - Season Two is an episodic point-and-click narrative-driven graphic adventure video game similar to Telltale's previous titles such as Tales from the Borderlands. The player is able to collect items, solve puzzles, and talk to non-player characters though conversation trees to learn about the story and determine what to do next. Like other Telltale Games, decisions that the player makes have an impact on story elements in future episodes.[23] However, unlike Telltale's previous games that carry more mature or emotional overtones including the death of major characters, Story Mode is known as a family-friendly title, so the decisions are still pivotal and emotional but do not involve mature imagery or themes.[23] Elements of crafting and building, central to Minecraft, are included in the gameplay, following a similar approach.[23] The game features combat and other action sequences, carried out through both quick time events similar to Telltale's other episodic games, and more arcade-like controls, such as steering around debris on a road.[24][25] The game also mixes new characters with original themes to make an entirely original Minecraft experience.

Episodes
The game is divided into five separately sold episodes, released in intervals of 1 to 2 months. Similar to the previous season, a Season Pass, which bundled all five episodes together and a physical copy subtitled Season Pass Disc were released as well.
That physical release includes the first episode on the disc and granted access to the other four episodes via download when the game's servers were operating. The physical and digital release on Nintendo Switch forms an exception, as it contains all five episodes on the cartridge / included without requiring a download.

Quotes

If you’re not familiar with Story Mode, it’s a sort of Choose Your Own Adventure set in the Minecraft universe, full of high drama, plucky underdogs, legendary heroes, dastardly villains, incredible peril and perky pigs. Logically enough, Season 2 follows on from Season 1, with players once again filling Jesse’s cuboid shoes, and with a host of familiar faces in tow - but new players should be able to jump right on board!
